If you're a first-time visitor at NoVA Gonstead Chiropractic Clinic, you'll need to give us some information about your background, medical history and the nature of your condition. This is so that we can provide the best possible care, tailored to your specific circumstances.

1. A bit of paperwork

We will need you to fill out forms that provide general information about you and your condition. Our staff is happy to assist you with paperwork.

2. Consultation

During your first consultation with the doctor, you will discuss and health related issues and concerns. You will also learn about potential treatment options.

3. History and Examination

In order to pinpoint the problem, the doctor will ask you a number of questions related to your condition. A variety of targeted tests will be performed to determine which segments are affected and to what extent.

4. X-rays

Your specific condition may require us to take x-rays to either confirm possible subluxation or rule out other serious conditions.

5. 1^st Report of Findings

Once the doctor has all of the information necessary to evaluate your condition, you will schedule your Report of Findings and first adjustment for the following day. In extreme cases, the doctor may immediately evaluate your findings so that you receive your first adjustment the same day.

6. Home instructions

After 1^st adjustment, you will be given instructions on certain activities or procedure to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat applications, avoidance of certain activities, or positions, as well as home exercises.

7. Scheduling the next appointment

Regular adjustments are essential. We work our treatments around your schedule. Generally speaking, patients are seen within 1-2 days of their initial visit and are provided with a complete review of findings. Treatment options will be discussed at this time.
